About Autoblocks

Rebuilding the foundation of industrial automation.

Autoblocks™ was founded on a deceptively simple premise: the architecture of machine control hasn’t meaningfully changed in three decades, and the industries that depend on it — automotive, electronics, medical device manufacturing — are paying the price in cost, complexity, and time-to-deployment.

We set out to change that. Today, Autoblocks delivers a fully integrated automation platform — controller, motors, operator interface, and programming environment — engineered as one system, governed by a portfolio of patent-pending innovations, and designed from the first principle that automation should be faster to build, easier to operate, and economical at any scale.

Our origin

Autoblocks was not born in a lab. It was born on a factory floor.

Our company spun out of the custom machine building group at Fancort Industries, a manufacturer with decades of experience designing and delivering bespoke automation for the world’s most demanding production environments. For years, our engineers built custom machines — single-purpose, hand-engineered, brilliantly capable, and painfully difficult to scale, replicate, or maintain.

We watched the same problems repeat across every project. Each new cell required a fresh cabinet design. Each axis change forced a re-cut of conduit, a re-spec of drives, a re-validation of safety logic. Programming was tribal knowledge. Replication was a euphemism for rebuilding from scratch. The hardware was different, the software was different, and the customer waited.

Custom machine building taught us exactly what was broken — and exactly what a standardized platform would have to deliver to fix it. Autoblocks is that platform: engineered by the people who lived the problem, designed to put an end to it, and built to make every future machine faster to deploy, cheaper to scale, and easier to support than the last one.

What makes Autoblocks different

Our platform is protected by a growing portfolio of patent-pending innovations across motion architecture, controller design, and the AutoCode programming environment. Three innovations define the system:

Distributed motion control. Autoblocks Absolute Motors integrate a closed-loop stepper, drive, motion controller, and absolute encoder into a single device. Coordination is handled across the bus by the motors themselves — eliminating the external drive racks, motion controller cards, and cabinet rebuilds that scaling traditionally requires. Adding an axis means adding a motor. Nothing more.

A unified controller. The Autoblocks Control Block consolidates logic, safety, motion sequencing, vision, and I/O into a single no-code device — replacing the traditional stack of PLC, safety PLC, motion controller, and HMI with one configurable platform.

A purpose-built programming environment. AutoCode bridges no-code accessibility with engineer-grade flexibility, giving teams a single language for the entire machine — from a basic conveyor cycle to coordinated multi-axis robotics. It is the only environment of its kind built specifically for the Autoblocks architecture.

Together, these innovations let machine builders deploy automation in a fraction of the time, at a fraction of the cost, with a fraction of the cabinet footprint of conventional approaches.

Our principles

We replaced abstract values with the principles that actually govern how we engineer, ship, and support our products.

Engineering integrity over feature velocity. We will not ship a feature that compromises the system’s reliability or simplicity. The platform is judged on what production machines do for years, not what demos do in minutes.

Modularity is non-negotiable. Every component we design is interchangeable, repairable, and forward-compatible. A machine built on Autoblocks today should be supportable a decade from now.

The customer’s engineer is our customer. Our software, hardware, and documentation are designed for the person on the floor making the system work — not the procurement spec. If our product makes their job harder, we’ve failed.

Transparent economics. We are upfront about pricing, lead times, and capabilities. Surprises belong in the lab, not in our customer relationships.

Who we serve

Autoblocks is the platform of choice for system integrators, OEMs, and machine builders across precision assembly, electronics manufacturing, automotive subsystems, medical device production, and high-mix industrial automation. From single-cell prototypes to fully replicated production lines, our customers ship faster and at lower cost because the underlying platform is engineered to disappear into the machine — not to dominate it.

Looking ahead

The work we are doing today is the beginning. Our roadmap extends Autoblocks into adjacent domains — vision, force control, autonomous operation, and remote diagnostics — each anchored by the same architectural principles, and each built to make automation more accessible, more economical, and more reliable than it has ever been.

We invite you to build with us.
